In April 2022, Robert Klein, a veteran officer with the Weston Police Department in Connecticut, reported an unusual encounter during his midnight patrol near a local reservoir. Klein, with 25 years in law enforcement, described observing a spherical object, approximately the size of a compact car, emitting intense, color-changing lights. The object hovered about 30 feet from his patrol car before moving at extraordinary speeds across the water.

Klein recounted that the object emitted a bright light that illuminated the interior of his vehicle, temporarily impairing his vision. The light cycled through various colors, including red, green, white, and orange, with a “plasma-like” appearance. He also noted a distinct low humming sound accompanying the phenomenon. When he directed his spotlight toward the object, it moved instantaneously across the reservoir, a movement too rapid for him to perceive. Klein managed to capture photographs and video footage of the object during the encounter.

Ben Hansen, host of the Discovery+ show “UFO Witness,” investigated the incident and discovered additional reports of similar sightings in the area. One such report involved a witness observing multiple orbs near a community center. Hansen’s team plans to conduct further on-site investigations in Connecticut to gather more information and identify potential additional witnesses.

This incident adds to a growing number of reported encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) by credible witnesses, including law enforcement personnel. The U.S. government has shown increased interest in investigating such reports, establishing the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in 2022 to examine UAP sightings. Despite these efforts, many UAP incidents remain unexplained, prompting ongoing public interest and calls for greater transparency regarding these mysterious occurrences.
